PRODUCTION INTERNSHIP: Interns will work closely with producers and will assist with various functions such as researching commercial ideas, writing scripts, translating, transcribing, We are looking for interns who are committed to a career in broadcasting. Candidates must be 100% bilingual, English and Spanish. Internships are unpaid and therefore interns must be enrolled in a college or university internship program that provides school credit in exchange for no pay. Juniors and seniors are preferred. Se busca una persona bilingüe (Inglés-Español), responsable, entusiasta lleno/a de energia y amigable para representar a la estación de radio en varios eventos promocionales en el sur de California. Las responsabilidades incluyen la creación de la estación de la tienda (s) y sistema de sonido y la interacción con el público en la estación de eventos, tales como: conciertos, festivales comunitarios, y diversos eventos patrocinados. Esta posición requiere una licencia válida de conductor de California Clase B y limpio historial de manejo. Job Description:
The Position of Driver, RV, provides reliable transportation and promotional support to the KLAX & KXOL Promotions team with priorities focused on safety and service. May also work in a larger group performing the more routine duties under the direction of manager. Responsibilities are fairly routine in nature and include the coordination and execution of all street promotions and station events, etc where procedures are clearly prescribed or the individual is under general supervision.
Essential Functions:
* Operates RV in a safe and courteous manner
* Serves as a communication link between field Promotions staff and inside Promotions Staff
* Maintains a neat, clean and professional appearing vehicle both inside and out
* Fuels assigned vehicle
* Maintains accurate, up-to-date records on trip sheets, fuel purchases, incident reports, accident reports, vehicle condition reports and other records requested from management
* Coordinates the schedule of major or periodic vehicle maintenance with management and staff
* Responds immediately to accident or medical emergencies by notifying emergency response providers
* Daily communication with promotions manager and entire promotions team
* Prepare and execute client station appearances
* Assists Promotions team with loading and unloading event equipment
* Maintain and upkeep of promotional equipment (canopy, PA's, tool boxes, prize boxes, etc.)
* Entertain a crowd in public with games, music and trivia in a safe manner
* Assist promotions department in special assignments on as needed basis
* Provide station Promotions Coordinator with recap from every remote and event within 24 hours of event
* Remains calm and professional through stressful circumstances
Qualifications
Education/Experience:
* High School Diploma
* Valid California Class B driver's license
* Clean and Safe driving record
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Required:
* Skilled at driving large vehicles, i.e. an RV, in heavy urban traffic
* Ability to read and interpret maps and driving directions to plan the most efficient routes
* Ability to recognize vehicle maintenance needs
* Ability to read and interpret road signs in English
* Ability to read, write and speak English and Spanish
Physical Demands:
* Light physical effort; regularly lifts equipment up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 lbs
* Prolonged standing and sitting
* Work involves exposure to extremes in weather, and/or loud noises
